Harbour court reaches topping out

This month the crew placed the final concrete on the roof of Harbour Court, a twelve-story mixed-use building on the Boston waterfront. The structure is now at full height, and the team has started on the facade.

Where the building stands

The frame is complete from the podium to the roof, and the courtyards are open to the sky for the first time. Walking through them, you can see how the building steps down toward the water, just as we hoped when we first drew it.

From the roof terrace the harbor is visible for the first time, which has changed how the team talks about the upper floors. Several apartments now have a view that existed only in renderings a few months ago.

What the site team did well

The project reached this point on schedule, despite a wet spring and tight access on the street side. Careful sequencing of deliveries and an early decision to precast the stairs kept the site calm and the neighbors informed.

Every Friday the contractor, the structural engineer and our site architect walked the building together and logged anything that needed a decision. Most items closed within a week, so small questions never grew into delays.

What happens next

Window installation begins next month on the lower floors, and the brick and zinc panels will follow. Over the winter, the team will close in the building and start interior work. We expect the first residents to move in during 2027.

The courtyards will be among the last spaces finished, since they stay open to deliveries until the facade is complete. When they open, they will be public, with benches, planting and a path that links the street to the harbor walk.
